Our Mission
Material overestimation and waste miscalculations cost the US residential construction industry over $4.2 billion annually. ProBuildMath was founded to bridge the gap between architectural blueprints and retail lumberyard ordering. By embedding real-world waste factors, roof pitch multipliers, subgrade compaction buffers, and local code specs into web-based algorithms, we eliminate costly job site delays and overspending.
Calculation Methodology & Standards
Every estimation calculator hosted on ProBuildMath.com is engineered according to established trade association guidelines:
- Roofing Takeoffs: Calibrated against National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) manual standards, incorporating pitch geometry ($1.054$ to $1.300$ slope factors) and starter/ridge cap allowances.
- Concrete Calculations: Built in accordance with American Concrete Institute (ACI 318) volumetric specs, factoring in 10% to 15% subbase settlement overage.
- Drywall & Wallboard: Follows Gypsum Association (GA-216) wallboard application standards for 4x8 and 4x12 sheet layouts and joint compound consumption rates.
- Fencing & Framing: Adheres to American Fence Association (AFA) post depth guidelines (minimum 1/3 post depth in concrete footings).
Editorial Independence & Transparency
ProBuildMath.com is an independent digital publisher. Our calculators are 100% free for public use. We are funded through transparent third-party digital advertising and optional local contractor estimate matching services. We do not accept paid manufacturer bias in our material takeoffs.
